ABOUT RIAS

RIAS is today the leading supplier of semi-finished plastic products for all sectors of industry, construction and the public sector in Denmark and we also have significant activities in the rest of Scandinavia.

Plastic is a component in nearly all products of today where the expectations for precision, durability, design and environmental care are high. RIAS delivers semi-finished plastic to all kind of industries such as the building and construction sector, chemical, mechanical, offshore, food, furniture and packaging sector as well as visual communication.

We have a wide range of semi-finished plastic on stock and also offer all kind of customized solutions to our customers especially from our processing department RIPRO, including 3D printing.

RIAS is founded in 1959 as ‘RIAS, Roskilde Industri Aktieselskab’ and since then the head office has been on Industrivej in Roskilde. RIAS has also a large industrial warehouse in Randers and a sales office in Bro near Stockholm.

RIAS A/S is quoted at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and thyssenkrupp group is the main shareholder. RIAS is therefore part of the 9 companies within thyssenkrupp Plastic International supplying the international market with semi-finished plastic.

RIAS' HISTORY

2020

RIAS has carried out a major upgrade of the production facilities, which includes a renovation and reconstruction of a completely new and energy-optimized production hall.

2013

Establishment of sales organization in Sweden.

2010

RIAS merged with the subsidiary Nordisk Plast at the beginning of October 2010.

2009

Nordisk Plast inaugurates 6,000 m2 of new and modern warehouse and administration premises in Assentoft near Randers.

2008

RIAS takes over all shares in Nordisk Plast.

2006

Inauguration of a modern warehouse building of 2400 square metres, after which all RIAS' activities are gathered at Industrivej in Roskilde. Concurrently, the administrative premises are refurbished and extended with new conference facilties and reception.

2002

RIAS takes over the activities in RODENA, thus significantly strengthening its position as a supplier of plastic products and accessories to DIY centres and superstores in Scandinavia.

1999

RIAS acquires the processing company Akni Plast, now named RIPRO (RIAS Production), as part of RIAS' strategy to offer its customers industrial processing of plastic semi-manufactures of a high level of craftsmanship, including laser cutting, milling, bending, drilling, gluing and polishing.

1997

RIAS consolidates its leading position on the Danish market for plastic semi-manufactures by taking over the plastic activities from Tibnor Danmark.

1990

The Amer Group sells its shareholding to Thyssen Handelsunion AG, Germany. During the following months and years, the activities in the foreign subsidiaries are wound up, and RIAS subsequently concentrates on its core activities on the Danish market.

1987

The Knud E. Jacobsen family, sells the majority shareholding to the Finnish Amer Group.

1985

RIAS becomes listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

1973 og '75

Establishment of subsidiary in Oslo and Stockholm

1963

The activities are supplemented with distribution of plastic semi-manufactures.

1959

Knud E. Jacobsen founds RIAS (Roskilde Industri Aktie selskab) in Roskilde. The company produces cast acrylic sheets.
